Because of this, it is important that new agents try a few different marketing methods when first beginning a marketing plan.

Then, it may pay off to look into some marketing automation options.

These three marketing tools are a great place to begin.

  • Video

Potential buyers love to see what makes a house unique and the sellers are happy to showcase all the little details of a house that can get lost in a regular listing.

Creating a Youtube video is a simple marketing method that can give great results.  It’s also great for blog marketing because it’s interactive and sticky (keeps visitors engaged longer) for your website.

  • Social Media

Social media is a great way to connect with customers in a very personal way.

You can use automated marketing systems to develop good quality content to share.

Then you just have to add your personality and create engagement and conversation around the content you share.

Befriend potential buyers and sellers on social media and they will see you as a real person–as well as an agent.

  • Events

Are there any upcoming festivals, carnivals or community events in your area?

Show up at one of these events with a few business cards, flyers or balloons and get ready to make connections.

This is very useful way to start building your sphere-of-influence for a brand new agent.

Add all of your new connections to your database and start sending them consistent updates (at least monthly).

But don’t fall in the trap of sending boring old market data or interest rate updates!  Send interesting content that will keep them engaged even when they’re not thinking about a transaction.

That way they’ll continue to pay attention and make referrals as you maintain top of mind awareness with them!

It’s important to tie these online marketing activities together whenever and wherever you can.

For instance, take a short video of the event that you attend.  Interview a speaker or another attendee to get information to share with your followers.

Then write a short blog post about the event and include the video in the post.

Last, share the blog post with your social networks using simple share tools on your blog website.

Then when people see your new, cool blog content, they will click through to read the rest or watch the video and will end up on your blog website.

And that’s exactly where you want them!

These tools are all free, or close to it and a great start at marketing your real estate business.
