What You Are Saying With Your Call to Action

call to actionThe perfect call to action will often makes or break your companies marketing. It is one of the most important elements that will directly impact your conversion rate.

What exactly is a call to action? A call to action or a CTA is used in marketing campaigns to encourage website visitors to take a desired action. A call to action is a written directive and is typically written as a command or action phrase, such as “Register Now”, “Download Now” or “Sign-Up Today.”  CTAs are generally used at the end, or sometimes throughout an article or ad to let potential clients and customers know what to do next if they’re interested in what you offer.

Do not waste your marketing dollars on guessing games. Do your research! Make a list of some of your more profitable competitors, and then visit their homepages, looking at the CTAs they use.

When you’re actually constructing your CTA, there are three things you need to do:

· Start with an action word, like buy, download, call, register and more.
· Create a sense of urgency with words like today, now or in the next 24 hours. A CTA that creates a sense of urgency will also help increase conversions.
· Tell your audience what’s in it for them if they do act now.
